Outdoor Patio Furniture Needs to be More Than Form & Function
As we are gearing up for the summer months, there needs to be more than just form and function taken into consideration when purchasing outdoor furniture. The tried and true adage of, “You get what you pay for” certainly holds true for outdoor furniture. Typically the “lowest cost” upholstery will be delivered with basic white muslin fabric. However this simple, cheap (yes, I said it CHEAP) fabric was not made for constant outdoor usage and direct sunlight. There is no UV protection in inexpensive fabrics, so usually within 1 year of exposure to sunlight and weather elements, the interior foam in the cushions will disintegrate. Thus costing MORE money to replace not only the upholstery, but foam inserts as well.
If you’re going to make the investment in outdoor patio furniture, spend the few extra dollars on a higher grade upholstery fabric and weather treated furniture. Don’t trip over pennies today when it will save you dollars in the future. What many people don’t know is that Professional Home Stagers also make GREAT Interior / Exterior Designers. Good advise! Spending a bit more for something that is not only going to last longer but look great is good common sense. I’m shopping for patio furniture soon and this is always a good reminder.
No doubt, one needs to spend a bit more on decent fabric outdoor furniture. Weather can severely damage low quality fabrics

Great info, I like it…
the patio furnitures that we use at home are leather covered and they are really nice -’,
I love how you can arrange different styles with one set, we got ours for urban wicker and it changed the look of our backyard by night and day.
