Do You Dream in Black & Cream?

I’m not sure how all this began, but we have found a certain design trend when going through our Home Staging Portfolio pictures.¬† I think it all started with this bedroom which we did in the early summer of 2009 (and the home sold with multiple offers ūüėČ )¬† The¬†¬†headboard was a large, black leather wrapped with nail-head details and was stunning.¬† So stunning that the Seller of this house actually purchased¬†the headboard for her next new home,¬† and the trend didn’t¬†stop there.¬† A few months later these lamps and area rug combination was purchased by another Seller when we Staged their Owner Occupied home for their daughter’s black/white/cream themed bed room.

Then, more recently we Staged this large master bedroom in a smaller home in Newbury Park where we wanted the home to convey a “grand” feeling, even though the square footage of the home (& price point) was much smaller.¬† The black furniture and¬†artwork anchored the space and gave some “weight” to an otherwise blah space.¬† To see what this room looked like BEFORE we Staged, click here.¬†

Wouldn’t you know it: OOPS! We did it again!¬† However, yes, we admit it that we meant to as this color combination seems to be¬†so versatile in so many homes and adds a HUGE amount of drama.¬† In this home the Master Bedroom felt very¬†small, but with our Home Staging prowess we added a huge impact and showed that it could accommodate a larger bed as well as a sizable dresser.¬† (Often times ADDING furniture actually makes the¬†space feel BIGGER).¬†¬† We’ve been enjoying our dreams in black & cream, but¬†don’t worry we dream in color too. Cheers!
